SharePoint 2010 document library -- folders with custom colums and click the folder, uploading files and enter values in the cusom colummns RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have a document library(SharePoint 2010). It consits like this..

Type              Name           Modified date Date      Modified
    Folder(image)     Dallas          07/11/2012            James Bond

    Folder(image)     Austin          07/11/2012            James Bond

By default folder will create Type, Name , Modified date and Modified By colums

once I have created new colummns, folders are not allowing custom columm values.

    I nedd like this :

Type              Name           Filecreate Date     Releated deapartment

    Folder(image)     Dallas          5/15/2003             IT depatment

    Folder(image)     Austin          6/23/2006             Chemical

I have created custom folder mapping using content types.. that scenario allowing the custom colummn values also.

But Once clicking the floder, I want to uploade multile documents and custom columms fields .

it is uploading files but it is not allowing another columms.

    I need like this ..

    Once clicking Dallas folder

Type                   Name            FileCreated Date      Related Department

word (image)       Yumana           5/15/2003            IT Department
    Pdf(image)          Design             5/15/2003            IT Department
    xls(image)           cars                9/29/2005            Rocket

setting content type working folder level custom columns only.

but once clicking folder just uploading files, it is not showing any remaining coulmmns in the edit mode.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks for Advance,

The custom columns for folder content type is only for folder, So, When you upload the file ,the  column is hide. So, if you want use the column, you must create the document content type, the you can use these columns when you upload the file.
