Wrong order of the test cases during the test run RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

We use Microsoft Test Manager to run our test suites and until now we don't have any problem, but now it puts the test cases in a wrong order and we don't know why. The IDs of the test cases aren't be changed, but the QTControll puts our test into a random order. Have you met someone with this problem? How can we solve it? Any idea?

Thank you for the answers in advance!

  • Hi,

In the Plan Tab, you can reorder test cases by clicking on the Order button (or by right-clicking on a test suite and selecting Order Tests).

In the Test tab, you can sort by the Order Column.

If you run automated tests from test plans, add a ordered test file in your project to define the order all test method and in the build definition, for the Test Assembly parameter, change " **\*test*.dll; " to " **\*test*.orderedtest; ". Then TFS will find the ordered test file and run it.

    Best regards,
