Is ID3D11DeviceContext::ClearState method obselete or unnecessary? RRS feed

  • In a typical D3D10 application, the D3D10Device::ClearState method is usually called before program exits. However, in several Windows 8 code samples, this method is nowhere to find. Is this method obselete or unnecessary in Metro-style applications?

  • Metro style apps don't get notified on exit so there isn't a place to call this. You don't need to clean up since the process is being broken down anyway.
