edit rtf RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We need to edit an rtf template that includes some aspose reports fields, but everytime we change something from Microsoft Word, the template stops working because Word adds extra-codes that make the template unusable (we say that Word 'corrupts' the template), so we edit the rtf from notepad++ to prevent more errors. The thing is that this is an awful way to work.

Do you know if there is a tool that enables to edit rtf files so that, let's say, if I change only the technical part of a field code i.e. [field:instructions blah blah], does not add extra chars to the rtf ?

I know that wordpad's default format is RTF, but I've not tested its behaviour yet.

Are there any other windows tools around ? Maybe OpenOffice ?

I've tested Jordan Fung's editor, but it gives me errors even when selecting text...

    Thanks in advance,

    Roger
