SharePoint online list : Dynaic columns RRS feed

  • Question

    • Hello all, is there a way to make choice fields dynamically interact with each other on a classic view list that does not use power apps? For example first choice is between red and yellow, if choose red, the next choice field only displays options for red and if choose yellow, the next field only displays options for yellow?

  • Hi Sharepointchamp,

You could customize the list through InfoPath to meet your requirements. Here are steps as follows.

    1. Create a list 1, create a single line of text column named first stores the information of first choice column.

    2. Create a list 2, create a single line of text column named second stores the information of second choice column, then create a lookup column associated with first choice column.

    3. Create a list 3, then create two choice columns named first and second respectively.
    4. Follow the detailed steps in these articles.

    5. The last step, right click first field, select Drop-Down List Box Properties -> change the value as d:ID.
