BizTalk 2016 MQSC Adapter with Multiple IP Addresses RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our MQ Server is configured with 2 servers in an active-passive mode.

In BizTalk 2013, using the MQSC adapter and MQ Client 7.5, I am able to specify the connection string so that it correctly connects to the active server.  The format is,

As we are planning on migrating to BizTalk 2016, we've decided to use the remove the dependency on the MQ Client install and utilize the MQSC adapter and the new built-in Microsoft client.  We are able to utilize the client and connect to the MQ Server when one address is specified however, when both IPs are specified it doesn't connect due to an invalid connection string.

My question is: does the new MQSC adapter with the Microsoft client support multiple IP address connection strings?

  • Active/passive sounds like a clustered configuration, don't you have a shared/virtual ip-address for both servers?
