VS2015 project keeps linking, despite no change. Make not holding? RRS feed

  • Question

  • What could be keeping a build to relink the image, a DLL with a RPC IDL file?   I excluded the MIDL compile of the IDL file, which created the server stub *_s.c file, but the build keeps relinking?

Suggestions? Is there any trace I do see what "make" logic is forcing the relink?

There were two lib dependencies which I removed as well.

  • Check the files in the solution explorer to make sure that they all exist.  Sometimes VS will not consider a project as up-to-date if there is a non-existent file in the project that is not actually needed for a successful build.

  • I checked it out and gave it a closer look.  I exhausted what to look for.
