Works With Tool Report - 16-bit Binaries RRS feed

  • Question

  •

In testing the previous version of the tool (we noticed a new version out today), we got several entries like the following on the Works With Tool (Test 14):

12/17/2007 12:56:29 AM :: Binary "C:\Windows\System32\AssemblyInfoGenerator.exe" is a 16 bit binary or it is not a valid binary.

How do we go about resolving this as we are confident none of these files are 16-bit binaries, and they appear to be valid?

    Carlo,

Can you see if this file is actually not in System32 directory, but in the SysWOW64 directory?

This may help us track this error down.

    Thanks,

    -Paul

  • Also, some of the issues with reporting files that no longer exists have been fixed in the latest version of the Works with tool. Please download this version and try the tests.

Looking forward to helping you achieve the designation.

    Thanks,

Yes, it is in the SysWOW64 directory; sorry for the delay, I was on-the-road with very limited access.

Thanks, Venkat - we downloaded the latest and will run the tests again (some of them have v. large output!).
