Essbase, MDX, Power BI, Ragged Hierarchy = Stumped!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • So, I am recreating Power BI Reports originally created using the built-in Essbase connector. I am instead using Native MDX query. The last challenge is dealing with ragged/asymmetrical hierarchy. I can find on the interweb enough information dealing with these but not in the context of Power BI query editor. I'm not 100% certain but I feel like some of my MDX results are not what I'd expect. I'm not sure if PBI interprets syntax differently or not. It would appear so.

I'm trying to get bottom/last level members all in one column. Seems simple but, various attempts fail due to syntax.

As always, any and all help will be GREATLY appreciated

  • Are you getting syntax error? You could check the query syntax.

Seems you issue doesnot have much to do with SSAS -- the topic of this forum?

Better post at Power BI Forum or Essbase community.
