damaged data in SQL Server Express 2005 using Access 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

we have a serious problem with our Access 2007 application, tables linked to SQL Server Express 2005 (Windows Server 2008).

There are 2 user working in network with local Access 2007, Connection to SQL Server Express 2005 with ODBC.
Sometimes one or twice a day occurs an error in different tables, when a user tries to update or add a line in a table. Then we find out, that the reason is one damaged row in the table. If you try to see this row in Acc 2007 (via ODBC), Acc 2007 crashes.

The only solution is, to delete this corrupt row in SQL Server Express 2005.

The same Access- application runs on other servers (Acc 2007/SQL Server Express 2005/Windows-Server 2005 and Acc 2003/SQL Server 2000/Windows-Server 2003) with out problems.

Has any one an idea to find a solution to this problem ?

    Many thanks in advances !

  • hi Leo,
you can not say the database is corrupted just becouse Access crashes.. you should run a checkdb (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms176064.aspx) in prder to get info about the real database corrupted state..
but I guess the problem is not there in a real database corruption..
