Guidance needed for error message RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Expressions web to maintain this site: www.westernreserveband.org

The site was set up and started by a member of the band that left the group. I volunteered to maintain it.

At this moment I cannot get into the site. I get a "Permanently Moved" error when logging in.

The site is hosted by Yahoo (not my first choice, but can't talk the group into moving it right now)

All fees are paid (hosting and domain)

Does anyone have any idea as to what is going on here?? I have never seen this error before and have no idea where to start with it. The site still works on the web.

I have contacted Yahoo and have not heard back from them for several days. Sent another email today.

Is this an error that is on my end or theirs??

    Thanks

  • You need to be logging in with valid credentials, which you must have, and we, of course do not.

You need to provide a lot more detail of exactly what you are doing, step by step, before anyone can do anything but throw out wild guesses.

  • I load up Expression web 2.

Select  www.westernreserveband.org from my list of web sites.

    Double click on it

The enter username and PW box usually comes up.

Now all I get is "Permanently Move"

    Cant get in.

I do have valid credentials (Username and PW) been using them for the past 4 years to make changes to this site.

    Now I can't get in.

Let me know if there is any other info you need.

  • You need to contact yahoo.  Sounds as if they changed something on the server.

  • I have already contacted them before I posted here.

So far I have nothing from them.

I wanted to post here too, just to eliminate any posibility that there could be a problem on my end with Web Expresions 2.

  • One comment: your description would indicate that you are editing the site live, which is very bad practice.  You should publish a copy down to your PC, edit that, then publish the changes up to the live site.

Of course, if you can't connect, you cant publish down, but do consider that for when the issue is fixed.

"I do have valid credentials (Username and PW) been using them for the past 4 years to make changes to this site."  - Using EW?

If so, something has probably changed on Yahoo, and you'll have to wait for them.  If the connection type is http (FrontPage Server extensions), perhaps they've been damaged or dropped.  But that's something Yahoo would have to help you with.
