NDIS 1:N sample RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to develop a failover load balancing driver using the NDIS framework. The sample provided in the WDK samples in the Github repository contains the N:1 intermediate mux driver. Is it possible to share the 1:N sample if it is available?

  • Sorry, but what is in the WDK is all you're going to get. Luckily for you, the NDIS documentation is the best of all the documentation in the WDK, so you shouldn't have too much difficulty modifying the mux sample to be what you want. If you don't have a good understanding of NDIS (MiniportXxx interface) and Transport (ProtocolXxx interface), then you should read up on those, first, followed by the Intermediate driver documentation. An intermediate driver has a Miniport edge on its top, and a Protocol edge on its bottom, so if you don't understand those, then you're doomed.
