Feedback Tool is not preserving authentication details

    Question

  • Is there any workaround yet to the fact that the Feedback tool is not preserving authentication details?

Also, is there any way to add follow-up comments to previous reports?   Seems like it would almost be better to start a report here, then refer to its URL there?   Here is an example of what happens when you do this backwards.

    TIA

  • Hey Robert,

There isn't a workaround that will prevent you from having to enter your authentication details each time you open the Send Feedback for Windows Developer Preview Tool.

The feedback that is entered into the tool is private feedback so there isn't a way to find a previously entered feedback entry. Here is the description from the Microsoft Connect site regarding the private feedback:

"This tool is used to send feedback to Microsoft. The Connect site will only allow you to provide “private” feedback to Microsoft, so normal Connect community features like voting and comments are not enabled. You should visit the developer forums on MSDN to connect with others in the Windows development community.

Microsoft will not be providing status updates of the bugs you have submitted, but may contact you directly if additional information is needed."

It could definitely help to include a link to a forum thread, especially if the feedback that is being provided hasn't been resolved. Then the additional information could be found by following the link provided in the feedback entry.
