WCF: CustomBinding with SecureConversation on IIS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have enableSecureConversation on a CustomBinding using the below configuration:

    <security authenticationMode="SecureConversation" messageSecurityVersion="WSSecurity11WSTrustFebruary2005WSSecureConversationFebruary2005WSSecurityPolicy11BasicSecurityProfile10">
        <secureConversationBootstrap messageSecurityVersion="WSSecurity11WSTrustFebruary2005WSSecureConversationFebruary2005WSSecurityPolicy11BasicSecurityProfile10" />
    </security>

    Which works great until I try to host the service under IIS. We are tied to the custom binding as we are using binary over http(s). I have searched for quite a while now, with no real clear answer as to how to do this. Does anyone have any idea how to set up the binding so that it works for both IIS, and windows service? (We package our service both ways, and give the client the choice)

  • Hi,

    What the specific issue is? Is there any error message when you host the service in IIS or in a Windows service?

    If you want to use the custom binding from a machine or application configuration file, please make sure you have add the binding to <bindingExtensions> collection.

    Best Regards.

  • Sorry for taking so long to respond. I got pulled off on several other projects, and had since forgotten the exceptions that occur. I will reproduce this, and get back to you.
