Exchange 2010 Schema prepare failing - ldife with code 110 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm trying to prepare our Server 2008 r2 to migrate from exchange 2003 to 2010.

When trying to do a PrepareSchemaif fails running ldifde.exe and it exits with code 110.

    Only 1 forest

Exchange 2003 is in native mode.

Attempted this on my DC server 2008 with account that is part of the admins group.

I have checked and no firewalls are turned on, and I have all virus protections turned off.

    DCDIAG tests all pass.

I have ran a Pre-deployment Analyzer and the only issue is that Active Directory Schema needs to be upgraded (which I'm attempting to do obviously).

  • I solved the problem, my first download of the Exchange 2010 media got corrupted some how. I Re-downloaded the media and everything works properly now.

  • Hi

try running the command from an elevated prompt with an account that is part of the schema admins group.

if you run the same command from the exchange server what happens?

what is your schema currently on? you need to be on a minimum of windows 2003, 2008 will be better and ensure that your roles are on the highest DC.

  • I tried running the PrepareSchema on both my exchange server and my dc server both result in a fail code of 110.

    My schema is currently 2003.
