The MessageTraceDetail REST URI doesn't work RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tried to make the most basic query of the MessageTraceDetail report, and it returns an error. API doc in the follow link: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj984328.aspx

    Request:

         https://reports.office365.com/ecp/reportingwebservice/reporting.svc/MessageTraceDetail

    Response:

    <m:error xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata">
    <m:code>InvalidQueryException</m:code>
    <m:message xml:lang="">La consulta no es válida.</m:message>
    </m:error>

    Could you help me solve this problem, do I need to add some extra parameters?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I'm able to get a query to work (requires a message trace ID & recipient address at a minimum) but I cannot get it to actually return any results.

    I do get results if I run the equivalent PowerShell Get-MessageTraceDetail with the same details.

    https://reports.office365.com/ecp/reportingwebservice/reporting.svc/MessageTraceDetail?$select=*&$filter=StartDate eq datetime'2019-05-21T00:00:00.000Z' and EndDate eq datetime'2019-05-21T00:00:02.000Z' and SenderAddress eq 'me@myaddress.com' and RecipientAddress eq 'me@mydomain.com' and MessageTraceId eq guid'0ae930ce-3b1f-45c6-06bf-08d6dd7f45a7'&$format=Atom

  • Actually sorry, the above was my own mistake - The EndDate was too early, while the message recieved date was within the bracket, the message trace detail had timestamps after the EndDate - Setting that to plus a few minutes allowed the above query to work just fine.
