The control could not be created because it is not properly licensed - ListView Control RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I see an issue when Listview control is added on  user form in Excel. Seems the control doesn't have a proper license. Following error message is seen.

"The control could not be created because it is not properly licensed"

Has anyone come across this issue. If so, how do i fix it.

Environment details: Windows 7 64 bit. Office 2010 32 bit.

Any suggestions regarding this issue will be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi.

Problem was with the version of MSCOMCTL.OCX registered in the machine. To resolve the issue, i had to just close all excel instances, re-name the ocx & reopen excel.

Excel downloads the latest version of MSCOMCTL.OCX if the ocx is not found in system32 folder.
