Visual Studio 2013 Premium License - Trial to MSDN subscription RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I had installed the trial/preview version of Visual Studio 2013 Premium before the final release.

And when the final release came out, I installed it from the ISO downloaded from my employer's MSDN subscription.

But since yesterday, it says that my extended trial has expired - please see the screenshot below.

Could someone please suggest how I can remove the old trial version and start using the MSDN version?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

The ISO installation files are same whether it is from MSDN or download center of microsoft.

The sha-1 of VS 2013 Ultimate from download center:DFC763DBE91060D0A5FC25D5DB2EFFD5C5A2163E

The sha-1 of VS 2013 Ultimate from MSDN:DFC763DBE91060D0A5FC25D5DB2EFFD5C5A2163E</label>

You could buy MSDN subscription or buy a license for your VS.

    Regards.

  • @Samson sun,

Sorry I was not clear enough - my employer already has an MSDN Premium subscription. And my colleagues who had not installed the preview version of Visual Studio 2013 before the final release, their installs are working fine even now.

Please let me know if you need any more information and thank you for helping.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Is your account which you have signed in a MSDN subscription?

If not, please use the account of MSDN subscription to sign in.

    Regards.

  • Same problem here and we don't understand.  Before calling them or anything I would expect some people knowing detail about this here.  The project manager at our office is the one with the signing account for MSDN and I assure you that he signed in with the right account and he downloaded VS 2013 Premium with the only license key it gives on the site.  Now why this weird extended trial thing we are facing.  This is troubling us and causes a lot of lost time.

  • Hi,

Visual Studio IDEs and MSDN Subscriptions are licensed for each individual user, not for the entire company or the project team. Each developer should sign in with their own Microsoft account to save their own settings.

If you have any further question about license, please call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist, and you can get more detail information from there. You can also visit the following site for more information and support on licensing issues: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/mplahome.mspx.

    Regards.
