USB interface descriptor RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was taking a look at USB descriptors. The USB spec says that

"An interface descriptor contains information about an alternate setting of a USB interface. ".

    1. Does this mean that an interface descriptor should always belong to an alternate setting? Should all USB devices contain one or more alternate setting?  If a device doesn't have any alternate settings, then how is the interface(s) of that device configured?

    2. Should an end point under an interface always belong to an alternate setting?
