New HttpClient class in .Net 4.5 framework bind to a specific IP address. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our server has got 20 IP Addresses.

We Need to use a specific IP address only for certain requests...

now we got this shiny HttpClient Class, but still no way to perform this basic demand.

Windows Server 2008 R2 firewall rules are also IP specific.

this class should also be IP SPECIFIC.

Please say when Microsoft is finally
going to enhance this class to support this basic feature...

  • I agree with you, but there is still a method you can use.  Yo ucan build you HTTP client using TCP and specify the IP address.  thsi may be a lot of work but it is doable. There are a lot of http tunneling code on the web that you can use to make the task simplier.
