Wallpaper slideshow broken

    Question

  • Hi.

Since a few days my wallpaper slideshow is broken. It doesn't change to the next wallpaper automatically. It does only change after clicking "Next Wallpaper" in the rightclick menu on the desktop.

    Can someone please help? Thanks.

  • Are you using a custom theme or using a provided theme?
If you change your wallpaper to a different one and then change back to the wallpaper you want, does it continue to work as a slideshow?

You can check your power plan and see if have slide show selected as Available.
    Go to Control Panel.
    Click on More Settings.
    Select Power Options.
    Select your Power Plan.
    Click on Change Plan settings.
Click on Change advanced power settings.
    Scroll to Desktop background settings.
    Expand Slide show.
    Expand Settings:
This should be set to Available. If it is set to Paused, change back to Available.
    Click on OK.
    Click on Save Changes.

Now go back to Personalize and see if you Slide show is now working as expected.

Please reply back with an update on your status.

  • Hello Em-a-il,

Have you checked to see if your slide show is paused while on battery power? You can check these settings by doing the following.

    1. Go to Desktop

    2. Right click on the desktop then select personalize.

    3. At the bottom of the personalize screen select Desktop Background.

    4. At the bottom of the Desktop Background screen there will be a box that you can select. Uncheck the box at the bottom of the screen next to When using battery power, pause the slide show to save power and save changes.

    Hope this helps.
