Sqlmetal did not generate code RRS feed

  • I am using VS2012 EXP,and also I am using Sqlserver 2008 devloperedition. Iam trying to generate code for entity class by using Sqlmetal commandline utility.

    My command line code is:

    sqlmetal /server:.\ /database:Northwind /namespace: /code:Northwind.vb /pluralize /functions /sprocs /views 

    I get message as warning message as usual ,but also it gave me error message : code file is not accessible

    can u help me out please

    Have you tried to run the .exe as an admin role. Because if you do not specify a file path, it will try to generate the .vb file to the “C:\Program File\Microsoft Visual Stuido 12.0\ ” which is not accessible by normal role.

    Or please have a try to specify a accessible path as:

    sqlmetal /server:localdbs /database:DFDB  /namespace: /code: D:\BMX\Project\2014\05\LINQ2SQL\Northwind.vb /pluralize /functions /sprocs /views
