What is the best way to download data from a SQL database to a Mobile 6.1 device RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I need to make an application on a Mobile 6.1 device. The one thing I have no idea how to do is how to get data from a SQL 2008 database to the Mobile 6.1 device so I can use the data in the application on the device. And while I am asking; after I manipulate the data on the device how to I get the data back into the SQL 2008 database?

    Thank You

  • The easiest way I can think of to do what you want is to write the application for the desktop using the RAPI2 interface. It includes APIs for interfacing with databases on the Windows Mobile device and extracting data. Once you have the data, you can use the usual Microsoft OLEDB API to interact with the local database on the PC.

  • Thank you this sounds like what I need. Any examples of apps using RAPI2 that you can point me to?

  • Yes, here is a codeproject article with general RAPI2 usage.
