Copy a worksheet with formatting to another Workbook RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to copy a sheet from one workbook to another and retain all of the formatting. I am not sure what the most efficient way to do this is.

I have thought of copying the worksheet to the other workbook, which retains all of the formatting, but brings with it a bunch of named ranges that point back to the original file, which I absolutely do not want.

I have also thought of copying the relevant columns and then pasting to the new other workbook and then pasting that as values, but that does not bring over the row height formatting.

Does anyone have any suggestions or have a link to info they could share with me?

    Thanks,

    Joe

  • just from the top of my head: you _could_ copy the worksheet like you said and then delete the named ranges in it... example of deleting the names:

    Code Snippet

    for each n in activesheet.names

    n.delete
    next n

    should be simple
