OTA on video decoder MFT RRS feed

  • Question

  • Do I have to implement the OTA interface in a video decoder MFT? The decoder uses DXVA2 for video acceleration. Other than that there is no content flowing out of PE.

Is there any document about how to implement an OTA if the answer is yes?

  • No, you don't need to implement an OTA for a video decoder.

For your decoder to use DXVA2 video acceleration, you need to support the MF_SA_D3D_AWARE attribute, which will cause your MFT to receive a pointer to the IDirect3DDeviceManager9 interface via a call to the MFTs ProcessMessage() with a message type of MFT_MESSAGE_SET_D3D_MANAGER.   From that interface, you can get access to the DXVA2 decoding and processing services.
