Mapping from zipped xml file names to SDK names? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a document which describes the mapping between files in the zipped document and the classes in the SDK?

For example, the file document.xml is mapped to MainDocumentPart, and apps.xml is mapped to ExtendedFilePropertiesPart.

Is there a description anywhere of which SDK classes maniulate which zipped xml parts?

  • It seems the ECMA spec on OpenXML will answer your questioin if you're looking for a complete description.

  • Yes, part of the answer is there. But Microsoft's naming in the SDK is created by them and is not defined in the ECMA standard. As I work with it, I start to know how it's mapped, but it would be nice to see the whole map as part of the documentation. For example, if I open the ExtendedFilePropertiesPart what can I access, and what not? Sure, I can open the object browser and burrow into it.
