Secure Store Service API vs SSO API RRS feed

  • Question

  • Anyone know the API changes between Microsoft SSO and SharePoint 2010 Secure Store Service?   I have a couple customizations that utilize the SSO API and I want to see if they will need to be rewritten or if the majority of the code will still work.

  • Think I may have answered part of my own question.  I found some basic API documentation at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.securestoreservice.server(office.14).aspx

    After some digging in the API I thought I would give a shot at writing some code to replicate what I have in my SharePoint 2007 customization.  I have run into one problem, I cannot locate the assembly to reference.

    I want to use the SecureStoreServiceApplicaiton class.  MSDN documentation states that it is in the Microsoft.Office.SecureStoreService.dll assembly.  I have not been able to locate that file on my server.

    SecureStoreServiceApplication Class<!---->
    <!--Content type: Devdiv1. Transform: orcas2mtps.xslt.-->
    Namespace:  Microsoft.Office.SecureStoreService.Server
    Assembly:  Microsoft.Office.SecureStoreService (in Microsoft.Office.SecureStoreService.dll)

    Any ideas?

  • It's hidden away in the GAC.  I found this KB article which provides instructions on how to reference it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982263
