There is no standard API for reading fingerprint data until now. It is a fairly new field and there's no standard way of doing it. Each manufacturer will provide their own API for reading the device.

After reading the fingerprint data, we could use some libraries or api to identification it. I found serveral ways to do it. Links below are for your reference.

  • Microsoft has defined the Windows Biometric Framework API so that applications don't have to support each manufacturer's API separately. However, I don't know which manufacturers have drivers for this Microsoft API. There are C++ examples, e.g. Synchronous Identification and Private Pool Identity.
