Debugging a Mail App RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've created a new mail app in VS2012, and using just what the project created I hit F5, gave my email and password, and then it said there was a deployment issue.  The only message displayed says:

Autoconfiguration has found the following settings:
External Outlook Web App URL: /EWS/Exchange.asmx">https://<anotherURL>/EWS/Exchange.asmx

At that point nothing happens.  I had assumed somehow when I hit F5 that it would run Outlook and my app would be debugged inside.  Is that possible?

  • If it matters at all, I am apparently still on an Exchange 2010 server, even though I'm running Office 2013

Too bad the docs didn't say that up front on the example :(  The example using NotePad says Exchange 2013, but the one for doing this via Visual Studio simply lists Outlook 2013 as the requirement, and doesn't mention exchange at all.

Thanks for the answer.  I'll work with our IT department to get myself onto the 2013 exchange pilot.
