VPL Lab 7 Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've been working on lab 7, the speech recognition lab, however whenever I run it I get this error:

    Error Loading Diagram
    Unable to load Diagram file
    Code s:Receiver
Reason Unable to load source uri System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Unable to load source uri File name: 'http://localhost/mountpoint/eb22ec83-29e0-4bf5-92b7-7c2f800f1108/SpeechLab7.program.xml'

So I thought that it could of been something wrong with the diagram I built, so I looked for the working sample of Lab 7 and when I ran that it gave the same error:

    Error Loading Diagram
    Unable to load Diagram file
    Code s:Receiver
Reason Unable to load source uri System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Unable to load source uri File name: 'http://localhost/mountpoint/e32988cc-c5a3-4607-82ce-cc25d5c75b1e/VerbalLearning.program.xml'

I also get a "Could not deserialize document" error on both files.

I'm very new to this program and I do not know what to do, could somebdoy please help?

    Thanks

  • What you said was right Trevor, the problem was being created by my anti-virus software. But for some reason just by disabling my anti virus software the error remained, and also by disabling my whole security center (windows) the error still remained. However I uninstalled my antivirus software and it worked, the errors were gone.

Thank you very much for your help.

  • Hmm. This is a wild guess, and I know it sounds weird, but I had a similar problem with Norton Antivirus a while ago. I kept getting errors about deserializing VPL programs. I tried everything I could with the MS XML DLLs and finally contacted Norton. They told me to download an update and the problem went away.

  • This computer does not have specifically Norton Antivirus, but I tried updating the existing anitvirus software but both deserialize and the other error are still there.

Any ideas for the "Error Loading Diagram" problem?

  • Can you try temporarily disabling your anti-virus software? I have not seen this particular error in any other case except the one I mentioned.

This is what I'm getting if I run the diagram, maybe it might help:

  • Sorry, this does not help. You can verify for yourself whether this is a bogus error. When you start a VPL diagram it creates a temporary folder under your RDS installation point with a folder name that is a GUI. In fact, you can see the full path to the XML files in the error message.

Please open the "offending" file, and check for the supposed error at the specified line. I am fairly sure that you will find that there is no error in the XML. The problem is being created by something else running on your system like anti-virus software.
