Insert Object Dialog RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Word Expert Developers,

Thanks a lot for your expertise as always, that indeed deserves the highest ranking which I've always cordially given.

I used to have Microsoft Wordpad, and Microsoft paint, these were uninstalled long ago, Upon insert>object, those do occupy the list albeit as blank entries (when selected and inserted an error dialog launches that gives clue what they originally have been).

Are there any ways to customize that list? Such as AddOLEObject Classes ?

    Sincerely Yours

PS. I use office 2003 under Windows Xp SP2

What appears in that list is a result of what Word "sees" in the Registry as registered OLE Servers. So changing the listing would mean changing the Registry. I'm not sure, though, which set of information is used, whether the HKCU or the HKLM.

The Technet forum might be the better place to get information about this, since they handle things like group policies that have to do with configuration of Office applications and the Registry.
