How to delete or edit a build agent tag on TFS 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The build controller properties window allows you to "Add New Tag" via the link, and to add or remove a tag associated with a build agent, but I cannot see a way to delete a tag from the system permanently.

On our TFS 2012 server we have old tags we would like to remove from the list and also tags we need to edit. I understand that at that point builds will fail, but that is OK as we plan to update the build definitions with the new tag names.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Alpar,

    Thanks for your post.

To remove the tags, in TFS Admin Console, please open the Build Agent Properties window, uncheck the tags which created in this build agent, then click OK button.

  • Unselect the tag from all the build agents using that tag to remove it.

    Works for TFS 2010 & 2013.
