windows phone emulator destroys wifi on surface pro

    Question

  • My surface does not show a wifi icon when I start it.

When I attempt to use the internet I get an error message which leads me to the network trouble shooter.

That fails to fix the problem, giving the following message:

vEthernet (internal Ethernet Port Windows Phone Emulator Internal Switch) doesn't have a valid IP configuration.

I don't know what this means.

The surface has visual studio 2015 installed. The last time I used visual studio I suspect I downloaded this emulator.

    Any assistance will be appreciated

I managed to solve the problem as follows:

control panel > network  and internet > Network connections

click on vEthernet icon and select disable.

Then enable  Marvell Avastar wireless icon

    hope this helps others
