Azure Web App is upper casing a handful of paths (breaking some URLs) RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a strange problem with one of our web apps, where a small handful of URLs are upper cased in a redirection response. We have the exact same domain running on two ASPs (staging and production); on staging, it's fine, but on production it goes wrong.

On the staging host, it works fine:

      curl -I https://staging-help-keyman-com.azurewebsites.net/developer/engine/web/

    returns:

      Location: https://staging-help-keyman-com.azurewebsites.net/developer/engine/web/current-version/

    However, the live host:

      curl -I https://help-keyman-com.azurewebsites.net/developer/engine/web/

    returns:

      Location: https://help-keyman-com.azurewebsites.net/DEVELOPER/ENGINE/WEB/current-version/

We have recreated the live web app (on the same ASP, with a new name) but that made no difference.

With IIS 6, there was a report of a similar issue (https://serverfault.com/questions/292335/iis-virtual-directory-application-name-in-upper-case) but the symptoms were not identical -- we are not using a virtual directory.

The source of the site can be found at https://github.com/keymanapp/help.keyman.com and it is deployed using Kudu.

    Any suggestions?
