Known Issue: After installing the Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK, I am no longer able to submit my apps to the store. (Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK, March 2016 release) RRS feed

  • Question

  • After installing the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14295 of the SDK, the Windows Store will no longer accept my packages.  The Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK is only supported on a test environment, and the tools cannot be used to submit apps to the store.

  • To get back to a supported environment you will need to uninstall the SDK and all dependency applications reliant on the SDK.

    1. Uninstall the Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK as well as any previous versions of the Windows 10 SDKs or Windows 8.1 SDKs.
    2. Uninstall Visual Studio which includes a dependency on the Windows SDK.
    3. Verify that there no files in the following location, c:\program files (x86)\windows kits\10\bin\x64.  If there are files remaining, then there is still a package depending on these files you need to uninstall.
    4. Reinstall Visual Studio using your preferred settings.
