Anyone working on books for the HTML client version? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hey guys, any of you working on a book for HTML Client version?
If yes, when are you planning to publish?
What will be the primary concept (Creating Widgets, LoB Apps, Performance tuning. Building large Enterprise Apps or etc)?

Looking forward to some productive discussions.

  • I plan to do an E-Book. The content will be from the blogs on http://LightSwitchHelpWebsite.com. I will just update it to the latest release and make it something you can read from beginning to end.

However, I will concentrate on showing how to make the pages and deal with the JavaScript. So my topics will be on JavaScript binding, Promise objects, serverContext and stuff like that. I also plan to get in and get out in only 120-150 pages. You will still want to have a traditional LightSwitch book as a companion.

  • Yes there appears to be 2 good possibilities in the near future for this:

    Lightswitch In Action   (chapter 5)

Although the preview summary doesn't mention the HTML client, I would be surprised if the follow-up book from Tim Leung doesn't cover it, given the thoroughness that Duran and he had in their previous Lightswitch book.

  • For those people that bought the MEAP edition of "Lightswitch in Action," the introductory chapter of the HMTL Lightswitch client (ch 5., "Building Mobile Interfaces") is now available for review.
