Backup using 3rd party software RRS feed

    Hi

     

    Can anyone advise whether it is possible to backup the mirrored database in SQL 2005 using 3rd party software eg Veritas, Arcserv etc. Specifically backing up the file system or by using SQL agents of the software. From my research it does not seem possible.

    Nope, Its not possible to backup Mirrored database becouse its in no recoery mode.

    You Can backup Principal database only, If you would like to read mirrored you could create a snapshot but also snapshots cant be backed up. You can create multiple snapshots but on the same instance.
