Circular AppDomain References RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to have two AppDomains, where each has a proxy to an object in the other?  In other words, can circular references be created between AppDomains?

And what is the difference between CreateInstanceAndUnwrap() versus CreateInstanceFromAndUnwrap()?

  •   I've never tried it, but I don't see why that should be disallowed.

The difference is the same as between CreateInstance and CreateInstanceFrom. The former takes an assembly name as input (such as "mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089") whereas the the latter takes a file path ("c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\mscorlib.dll").
