Hyper-V replication to a secondary site use ASR RRS feed

  • Hello,Everyone.Using the Azure Site Recover service, Hyper-V replication to a secondary site, is it necessary to deploy VMM at both the primary site and the secondary site, can I deploy a VMM at the secondary site?

  • If you want to use Azure for orchestration then yes at least one VMM is required.
    Hyper-V to Hyper-V without VMM will only work outside of Azure. But VMM in Azure is going to be deprecated.

  • I plan to deploy a vmm  server at the secondary site, but not  deploy at the primary site. What effect does this have?  Can ASR run normally?

  • In Azure you enable replication between two VMM Private Clouds. So if you have only one VMM then it needs to be able to manage both source and destination clouds.
