Shared add-in project template is not appearing in Visual studio 2012 professional trial version RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We have developed a add-in for Outlook using Shared Add-in project template of Visual studio 2010 professional edition. So we have a plan to purchase  latest Visual studio 2012. But we have observed that in VS 2012 professional trial edition Shared Add-in project template is not appearing.

So kindly provide and guide me related to missing shared add-in project template in VS 2012 if i am doing any mistake

    Thank You.

  • Templates for Shared add-ins have been removed in VS 2012 (I don't know the reason).

If you have already a VS 2010 project with your shared add-in you can migrate it to VS 2012 (and you can even still open it with VS 2010 SP1), the template is not needed.

If you really need the template I guess that you can copy and adapt the one of VS 2010.
