I started the Windows Developer Preview Setup - Error: "We can't get that info right now..."

    Question

  • So I started it up, let it check which application is going to be compatible and pressed next. After that it said it was connecting to the "store" and get ready. But then it started going downhill. It then told me and I quote "We can't get that info right now. We are having trouble connecting to the online store. Please check your internet connection etc..." But I have perfect connection or I wouldn't be able to post this. What do I do now?

    This may occur if your proxy settings are set to automatic.

     

    To work around this please try the following (even if Internet Explorer isn’t your default browser):

    • Open the control panel
    • Select Network and Internet
    • Click on Internet Options
    • Click on the Connections tab and then the LAN settings button

     

     

    Uncheck all of the boxes on this page then click OK. 

     

    Switch back to setup and click back to return to the compatibility page and then next to try and connect again.
