  • Hi Santosh,

can you give mode details where you found the term and the context?

When talking about Entity Relationships (e.g. ER Models) that term is not used at all. You have derived attributes but I don't know of derived entities in this context.

Links for a look at entities regarding the ER Model could be:
    https://wofford-ecs.org/DataAndVisualization/ermodel/material.htm
    http://www.tutorialspoint.com/dbms/er_model_basic_concepts.htm

But of course there is inheritance and an entity is just an element that can exist and there will be inheritance.
So there can be Persons and Students and Teachers. Person is a base for Student and Teacher so Student and Teacher are derived entities. That is a quite generic explanation of the words itself and without more details or the context I am not sure that exactly that is meant. (But maybe it is just me that I am focused on stuff like ER models to much right now.)

    With kind regards,

    Konrad
