Are there any technical restrictions for my metro apps? Java allowed? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm wondering what kind of technologies I'm allowed to use in my Metro app, I hope it's everything but Ineed to check. I would like to embed a JVM for scripting

(I hope this gets posted into the correct forum, I was inside "Windows Store: Publishing Metro Style apps for Windows 8", but now suddenly it forces me to select a new category which doesn't include any metro forums)

Answers

  • Hi Dreada,

Metro style apps can be developed using Javascript, as well as C#, C++, and Visual Basic.  You can find more information about developing Metro style apps in the videos from the BUILD conference and in the Dev Center.   If you have more specific questions about developing Metro style apps in JavaScript, you can post questions in the Building Metro style apps with HTML5/JavaScript forum.
