Blend runs extremely slow when editing deep in controls (Steve) - 12/27/2007 6:31 PM PST RRS feed

When i'm editing controls like the list view
as far down in scope as
    lstview/ScrollViewer/PART_Horizontal/Thumb/Rectangle
Every move I do with the mouse to change colors or sizes takes about 2-3
seconds before I see it change as is my processor is running at 120% and
    pinned.
but in task manager it's fine idling away at 3%

The deeper I go in controls the slower everything gets.
I have a Core2Duo 6600 so that shouldn't be the issue doing such simple tasks

    anyone else seeing this?

    thx!

    Steve,

What else do you have running at the same time?

    Not much at all,
Windows Live Messenger and maybe Media player

Every level I go deeper seems to add 2x more sluggishness
then and I go back up levels it clears up.
    very odd.

I see this on both my rigs
    thx!

    Steve,
I've been having fun with this behavior for months. The quickest fix I've
found is to collapse the tree at the highest level. Open the tree back up
and repeat a few minutes later when everything starts to lag again. I can't
explain why it works, but I came across that on one of the Blend blogs or
    forums a while back.

    Your mileage may vary.
