  • The Kinect SDK Beta 1 API does not provide an API for tracking just the hands so, if that's what you're asking for, then you'll have to write your own hand tracking code that takes depth stream images as input.

    The Kinect SDK Beta 1 API does support skeleton tracking for full body, and if whole body is visible you can just do

    SkeletonData data = ...; // SkeletonData can be obtained from a SkeletonFrame
    
    float depthLeftHand = data.Joints[JointID.HandLeft].Position.Z;
    float depthRightHand = data.Joints[JointID.HandRight].Position.Z;
    

    and "SkeletonData data" can be obtained from a SkeletonFrame as shown in SkeletalViewer sample.
