log in tutorial

Question

I've been trying to create a log in  page and am not quite getting it. Is there a turorial. I can create a log in page that accesses a data base record, but being able to go to a password protected page is a problem.

Be aware that a) this involves using VS Web Developer Express as well as EW and b) uses a SQL Server 2005 Express database. You need to check you host supports this, which may not be the case.
