Prevent downloading data from Azure ML RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm contractor for customer from US. Customer wants me to make some experiments with his data but wants to protect data from downloading. Is there any option in Azure ML to disable outgoing traffic and prevent downloading data?

  • Is the data going to stay on Azure ML, and can others access the data too? There is very specific and low description, can you please elaborate it a bit more?

If so, then chances are that they can download the data as well, if no, then why bother at all? Also note one thing, you can also try to publish the trained models to Azure as Web Services. Those Web Services would be what you are looking for, as to allow customers to get predictions -- but not download the data sources etc.

I remember, previously I worked on a ML project, where we instead of using the same environment to publish, we migrated the models (in their mathematical representation) and built a simple ASP.NET web application. Now, when user had to perform any prediction, he sent the data and we ran the calculation. No data, no nothing.

But of course, this method would require you to do a custom and manual ML-train-develop the model in ASP.NET. There are other ways around this too, in case you want me to elaborate them as well.
