Asian Typography settings in word 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    In word 2010, I want to set the entire content files (have bilingual language text in english and chinese) to have

    these two options with VBA Macro

    Under Paragraph --> Asian Typography,

    "Automatically adjust space between Asian and Latin text"

    "Automatically adjust space between text and numbers"

    Does any professional here know how to do so?

    Please kindly give me some advice on this.

    Thank you for your attention and suggestion in advance,

    Ray

Answers

  • Hi,

    Have you tried to record the process as a macro in Word?

    You can try to set the Paragraph.AddSpaceBetweenFarEastAndAlpha Property and Paragraph.AddSpaceBetweenFarEastAndDigit Property of Word Object Model in your VBA macro.

    AddSpaceBetweenFarEastAndAlpha Property is True if Microsoft Word is set to automatically add spaces between Japanese and Latin text for the specified paragraphs.

    ActiveDocument.Paragraphs(1).AddSpaceBetweenFarEastAndAlpha = True

    AddSpaceBetweenFarEastAndDigit Property is True if Microsoft Word is set to automatically add spaces between Japanese text and numbers for the specified paragraphs.

    ActiveDocument.Paragraphs(1).AddSpaceBetweenFarEastAndDigit = True
