Bing Maps render complete event? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi - When I push primitives to map.entities, it seems to me that the rendering of these on the map takes place in the background. Is this true? If yes, is there a way to know when the rendering has finished? I'd like to let the user to know that the map is ready when all entities are finished rendering.

    Thank you in advance,

  • There is no event for knowing when the rendering has completed. Rendering of shapes will vary depending on how you add your shapes to the map. If you loop through and individual add shapes to map.entities, the rendering will hold off until a short period of time without calls to that function occurs before rendering. Where as, if you pass in an array of shapes into map.entities, it will render them right away. This is important for performance.
