Data Menu not visible

Question

I installed Visual Studio Team Suit 2008 and am trying to create test data for an existing database. The "How to" discusses the "Data Menu", and I've seen it on some pictures. However it is not showing up for me. I created a new Database Project, added a new Data Generation Plan but the Data Menu is not visible. What do I need to do to get it to show up?

Hmm...that's interesting, it should be there right between the Debug and Tools menu.  Here is one thing to try:

 

-Go to the Tools menu, select Import and Export Settings...

-On the dialog, select the 'Reset all settings' radio button.  Click Next

-If you want to save your existing settings, select a file and path, if not, click the 'No' radio button and Click Next

-On the next page, select 'General Development Settings'. 

-Click Finish

 

This should enable the 'Data' menu option to appear in the main menu.
